The Puerto Rico Resilience Fund is managed by El Departamento de la Comida , a grassroots organization in Puerto Rico powering local regional-food systems, sustainable farming practices, farmers markets, food communities, and the decolonization of agriculture.
Since hurricane Irma and María all efforts have been redirected to providing food and sustainable support for those farmers affected due to the devastation. The Fund is directly supported by 501(c)3 AFC+A.
Food: We are in immediate need of Healthy food, Bulk dehydrated camping goods. There is very poor access to fresh food that is not imported, chemically grown, paid fairly to its producers. We are working on that. In the meantime, we could also use some staples, like flours, pastas, homemade preserves, spices, etc.
Water: We are in need of cisterns and the tubing necessary to connect to our rainwater collection efforts. Thanks to donations we already have enough water filters
ALL Donations can be made to PUERTO RICO RESILIENCY FUND (attn: TARA RODRIGUEZ BESOSA)
